Violinist Erin Yerin Kim has performed throughout the United States and has been a winner and finalist at major competitions such as the Vienna Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition and the Jan and Beattie Wood Competition.
One of the most sought-after orchestral musicians of her generation, Erin was the youngest musician in history to join the roster of the New World Symphony in 2018 at the age of eighteen, and she has served as concertmaster of numerous orchestras such as the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, the Brevard Concert Orchestra, the Honors Performance Series Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, and the Florida State University Symphony Orchestra. She has also served as Principal Second of the renowned National Repertory Orchestra.
As a passionate and decorated chamber musician, Erin has performed alongside some of the most celebrated violinists on the globe, and she was a finalist in the Senior Division of the prestigious Coltman Chamber Music Competition in 2023. As a solo artist, Erin has given solo recitals across the nation, and she has performed as a soloist with orchestras throughout the United States since making her orchestral solo debut at the age of eight. Orchestras that she has collaborated with include the Honors Performance Series Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the Brevard Concert Orchestra, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and the Informatics Philharmonic at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music among others.
A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Jaime Laredo and Stephen Rose, Erin is an enthusiastic pedagogue at the Arlington School of Music where she strives to continue the legacy of her musical heroes. Her other notable mentors include Masao Kawasaki, William Preucil, David Kim, David Coucheron, Sharon Robinson, and Wonji Kim-Ozim.
