Mandolin Lessons — Frequently Asked Questions
Is mandolin a good first instrument?›
Yes — it's compact, affordable, and its fourths/fifths tuning (the same as a violin) makes melodies logical. Kids, teens, and adults all start on mandolin successfully.
I play guitar — will mandolin come easily?›
Fretting and picking skills transfer well, though the tuning differs. Most guitarists are playing tunes on mandolin within weeks.
Do you teach bluegrass mandolin?›
Yes — folk and bluegrass styles are central to the instrument, alongside classical repertoire.
